Ashley Godfrey is a qualified Town Planner with over thirty years experience. We provide high quality advice on a range of town planning and development matters, including:

• preparation of the needs and evidence base that will underpin the development of LDF policies, including the Core Strategy
  
  
• undertaking strategic planning research to inform planning policies and Supplementary Planning Documents
  
  
• preparing and submitting planning applications and supporting documentation for development proposals, Listed Building and Conservation Area Consent
  
  
• pre-application discussions with local authorities
  
  
• negotiating planning and consents including planning conditions and obligations
  
  
• handling all aspects of planning appeals

• dealing with all aspects of the appeal process, including: certificate of lawfulness, enforcement, historic buildings, call-in inquiries
  
  
• making representations on development plans
  
  
• undertaking consultations with local residents and interest groups

We are pro-active in our approach to the management of planning applications from submission to determination, aiming to secure planning permission and ensure that any planning conditions or obligations are justified. Where appeals are necessary, we identify and address planning issues and will identify amendments required to a development to secure a positive decision.

We have also undertaken a range of studies for local authorities in the development of their evidence base for the LDF, including several PPG17 studies (these are listed on our Parks and Green Spaces page) and a number of other projects that have resulted in new planning policies and SPDs.

Recent planning applications we have worked on and supported include:

• Application for 79 new homes by Berkeley Homes on the site of the former Atkinson Morley Hospital, Wimbledon including restoration of sports pitches.
  
  
• Outline planning application for the residential development of AFC Totton by Linden Homes Southern Limited (following the club’s move to a new stadium).
  
  
• Certificate of Lawful Use for William Davis Homes, Loughborough.
