Project: Ferry Meadows Country Park Play Trail

Ashley Godfrey Associates and CamPlan were commissioned to undertake a review of children’s play provision at Ferry Meadows Country Park.
We started with an assessment of all areas of the park to identify their potential as sites for future play provision, and then consulted children who visit the park about the types of play activities they most enjoy. In particular we wanted to establish how the needs of children with different abilities, particularly those with impairments, could be incorporated into the overall play offer.

We considered opportunities for natural play, water play and trails as well as fixed play equipment, and provided costings for different design options. Finally we produced a masterplan based on the preferred solution.

Following the approval of funding for the project, we are looking forward to project managing its implementation in 2012.
